The January 26-29 performances of Frank Strausser’s off-Broadway comedy Psycho Therapy have been cancelled to give the creative team and cast more time to work. The show began previews on January 17, and the scheduled February 1 opening date has been delayed until February 7. Directed by Alex Lippard, the production stars Angelica Page, Jeffrey Carlson, Jan Leslie Harding and Laurence Lau. The show runs through February 25 at the Cherry Lane Theatre.
Psycho Therapy follows the strange relationship between Lily, her fiancée Phillip, and her ex Dorian. When Phillip blows off couples therapy, Lily’s hot, young ex-boyfriend, Dorian, jumps in to fill the void. When the trio ends up on the couch together, only therapist Nancy Winston can untangle the kinks.
The creative team for Psycho Therapy includes set design by Michael V. Moore, costume design by Amanda Bujak, sound design by Amy Altadonna, lighting design by Jeff Croiter and composition by Allison Leyton-Brown.
